About the Role

London Transport Museum seeks a commercially minded and fully qualified finance professional to lead and develop its Financial Planning & Analysis function. Reporting to the Chief Financial Officer, this highly visible role involves financial planning, analysis, business partnering, and strategic decision support across the Museum and its Trading Company. The successful candidate will support the Senior Leadership Team, Trustees, and Committees by delivering insightful financial reporting, forecasting, and analysis. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced Finance Business Partner who enjoys working with senior stakeholders, presenting complex financial information clearly, and influencing decision-making.

Responsibilities

Leading the annual budgeting process and quarterly forecasting cycles.
Producing high-quality management information, financial analysis, and strategic insight.
Presenting financial performance and recommendations to senior leaders, committees, and stakeholders.
Acting as a trusted Finance Business Partner to budget holders across the organisation.
Supporting business cases, investment decisions, commercial opportunities, and project funding applications.
Leading financial governance for capital projects and investment activity.
Developing reporting packs, PowerPoint presentations, and data-led storytelling for senior audiences.
Managing and developing a part-qualified Management Accountant.
Building and continuously improving the FP&A and Business Partnering capability within the Museum.
Working closely with TfL Finance and external stakeholders, including auditors and funding bodies.

Requirements

Fully qualified accountant (CCAB qualified).
Significant experience in a Financial Planning & Analysis or Finance Business Partnering role.
Experience delivering budgeting, forecasting, and monthly management reporting.
Strong stakeholder management skills with the ability to influence senior leaders.
Experience presenting financial information to Senior Leadership Teams, Boards, or Committees.
Strong analytical skills and the ability to translate complex data into meaningful business insight.
Advanced Excel and financial modelling skills.
Experience managing or mentoring finance colleagues.
Excellent communication and presentation skills, including PowerPoint.
Experience within the charity, museum, public sector, or transport sectors (desirable).
Experience supporting capital projects and investment governance (desirable).
Experience establishing or enhancing FP&A and Business Partnering functions (desirable).
Ability to confidently operate at both a strategic and operational level.
Comfortable challenging and influencing decision-makers.
Commercially minded with a proactive approach to problem solving.
Passionate about using insight to support better business decisions.
Motivated to shape and develop the FP&A function while leading and developing others.
