About the Role
This role sits within Wealth Management’s Annuity and Insurance Platform team, supporting technology, platforms, and processes for Financial Advisors and clients. The team leads strategic initiatives, platform enhancements, and application reengineering to improve client experience, strengthen controls, and increase operational efficiency. The Product Owner will support Agile squads and partner with stakeholders across Wealth Management.
Responsibilities
- Support Agile squads and partner closely with stakeholders across Wealth Management, including Product, Sales, Operations, Technology, Legal, Compliance, Risk, and third-party partners, to manage strategic initiatives throughout the program development lifecycle.
- Define business requirements, prioritize the product backlog, coordinate development and testing activities, manage risks and dependencies, and support the implementation of new capabilities from initial concept through production rollout.
- Identify opportunities to digitize and automate manual processes, enhance new business order entry, suitability, supervisory review, policy servicing, and post-issue workflows.
- Assess existing processes and workflows to identify opportunities for simplification, standardization, and continuous improvement.
- Proactively identify, track, and escalate risks, issues, and dependencies.
Requirements
- Bachelor's Degree
- 7+ years of relevant finance industry experience
- Knowledge of annuity and life insurance products, workflows and industry practices.
- Familiarity with Agile Methodology in Product Owner or similar role
- Organized and attention to detail focused
- Problem solving skills with the ability to identify and escalate risks
- Ability to take direction and work independently, as well as in a team environment
- Firm understanding of the importance of accuracy in quality of work/downstream impacts
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills and ability to effectively interact with senior management
- Strong reasoning and problem-solving skills and ability to think and act like an owner
- Efficient time management skills / ability to prioritize competing urgent tasks that team is involved with
