About the Role
New York-Presbyterian Brooklyn Methodist Hospital seeks a Physician Assistant for its Internal Medicine Float Pool. This role provides flexible clinical coverage across inpatient medicine services, adapting to patient care priorities, staffing needs, and operational demands. PAs collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to ensure high-quality patient care.
Responsibilities
- Provide flexible clinical coverage across inpatient medicine services.
- Perform admissions, histories, and physical examinations.
- Conduct daily patient assessments and management.
- Write progress notes, orders, and discharge summaries.
- Perform medication reconciliation.
- Engage in discharge planning and documentation.
- Coordinate patient care.
- Communicate with interdisciplinary teams.
- Respond to acute changes in patient condition.
- Transition effectively among assignments.
- Adapt to varying workflows and patient populations.
- Maintain consistent standards of safe, efficient, patient-centered care.
- Collaborate with physicians, nurses, therapists, and case managers.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s or master’s degree from an accredited Physician Assistant program.
- NYS PA Licensure.
- Current NCCPA Certification.
- Current BLS and ACLS certifications.
- NYS Infection Control certification.
- DEA and NYS Opioid Prescriber Training Certification.
- Must live within a commutable distance to NYP.
- Must have on-site presence.
