About the Role
We are looking for a highly capable Senior General Liability Property Damage Technical Claims Specialist to adjudicate commercial General Liability Property Damage claims and contribute to providing superb results for our clients. This is a 100% in-office position.
Responsibilities
- Adjudicate general liability property damage claims at the highest authority limits on assignments reflecting the highest degree of technical complexity, potentially with major impact on departmental results.
- Conduct detailed information gathering, analysis, and investigation to find solutions to issues that are numerous and undefined.
- Report to senior management and underwriters.
- Investigate claims promptly and thoroughly.
- Analyze claims forms, policies and endorsements, client instructions, and other records to determine whether the loss falls within the policy coverage.
- Interview all involved parties during claim investigations.
- Manage claims in litigation.
- Manage diary timely and complete tasks to ensure cases move to the best financial outcome and timely resolution.
- Properly set claim reserves.
- Identify, assign, and coordinate expertise resources to assist in case resolution.
- Prepare reports for file documentation.
- Apply creative solutions which result in the best financial outcome.
- Negotiate settlements.
- Process mail and prioritize workload.
- Complete telephone calls and written correspondence to/from various parties.
- Exhibit a passion for strong claim management.
Requirements
- A deep knowledge of General Liability Property Damage claims, as well as an exceptional customer service focus.
- A minimum of seven years’ experience adjudicating general liability property damage claims with extensive experience with exposure of $100,000 or more.
- Must be licensed or have the ability to quickly obtain a license in each jurisdiction requiring a license to adjudicate first-party claims within 120 Days.
- A NY State license is needed.
- Must have good business acumen.

Salary/Compensations
- New York City Pay Range: $165,036 - $198,084
