About the Role

We are seeking a driven Afterschool Counselor that operates with a high sense of urgency and possesses a strong work ethic. Candidates for this position do NOT need to speak Hebrew.

Responsibilities

  • Lead and supervise students in a variety of activities, including arts and crafts, sports, homework assistance, and enrichment projects.
  • Design and implement age-appropriate activities that foster creativity, teamwork, and learning.
  • Maintain a safe, positive, and inclusive environment for all participants.
  • Monitor student behavior, provide guidance, and address any challenges with care and professionalism.
  • Work closely with other afterschool staff to ensure a cohesive and well-organized program.
  • Communicate effectively with parents/guardians, sharing updates on student participation and progress as needed.
  • Track attendance and maintain accurate records of student activities.
  • Follow school policies and procedures to ensure a secure and compliant program.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma from an accredited institution is required.
  • Legally authorized to work in the USA.
  • CPR and First Aid certification (or willingness to obtain).

Skills

  • Excellent oral and written communication skills

Work Type

  • Mondays-Thursdays from 2:00PM-6:00PM
  • Fridays from 7:30AM-1:30PM

Experience Level

  • Elementary and/or Middle School teaching experience preferred

Education Level

  • High School Diploma from an accredited institution is required
  • NYS certification in content area or working towards certification is preferred

Salary/Compensations

  • $20/hour
