About the Role
The Senior Maintenance Supervisor oversees day-to-day maintenance activities, workplace reconfigurations, internal moves, repairs, and vendor-supported facilities projects. This position provides hands-on leadership to maintenance staff, coordinates contractors, and works closely with Facilities leadership and Building Management to maintain a safe, functional, and well-maintained workplace.
Responsibilities
- Supervise daily maintenance activities and perform minor repairs, including basic carpentry, furniture repairs, fixture replacement, and general building maintenance.
- Troubleshoot basic mechanical issues and coordinate specialized repairs when needed.
- Assist with desk and workstation reconfigurations, furniture installation and relocation, and related building modifications, including coordination of electrical, mechanical, and cabling requirements.
- Manage small internal moves with an assigned team and supervise outside vendors for larger moves, relocations, installations, and workplace projects.
- Manage, prioritize, assign, and monitor ServiceNow work orders, ensuring requests are properly documented, completed, and closed within established service expectations.
- Provide daily direction to maintenance staff and supervise contractors and vendors to ensure work is completed safely, efficiently, and according to scope and quality expectations.
- Assist with routine inspections and preventive maintenance programs and identify potential building issues before they become larger problems.
- Support small construction, renovation, furniture, and facilities improvement projects, including scheduling, vendor coordination, site access, and on-site supervision.
- Read and interpret floor plans, equipment layouts, and related documentation.
- Apply working knowledge of mechanical systems and general building infrastructure.
- Ensure maintenance and project activities are performed in accordance with company, building, and applicable safety requirements.
- Provide professional and responsive support to employees and internal customers and communicate effectively regarding maintenance requests and workplace projects.
- Maintain accurate records of work performed and demonstrate proficiency with ServiceNow and Microsoft Office Suite, including Outlook.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- 5+ years of experience in facilities maintenance, building operations, workplace services, or a related field.
- Previous experience supervising maintenance staff, contractors, or vendors.
- Hands-on experience with general building maintenance and minor repairs.
- Strong mechanical aptitude and working knowledge of electrical, plumbing, and general building systems.
- Ability to read and interpret floor plans and equipment layouts.
- Experience with ServiceNow or a similar work order/CMMS system.
- Strong organizational, communication, problem-solving, and customer-service skills.
- Ability to safely lift, move, and handle furniture, equipment, tools, and materials as required.
- Technical or vocational training in maintenance, HVAC, electrical, plumbing, carpentry, or a related trade.
- Relevant trade or facilities certification.
- Experience in a corporate office or large commercial building environment.
- Experience managing office moves, workstation reconfigurations, and facilities projects.
- Familiarity with Building Management Systems (BMS), preventive maintenance programs, and applicable safety requirements.
- Experience coordinating multiple vendors and projects simultaneously.
