About the Role
Advanced Dermatology, P.C is seeking a Full-Time Medical Appointment Scheduler to join our Call Center team. As a call center professional, you play a key role in representing the organization and practices with the overall responsibility of quickly managing patient calls related to scheduling patient appointments and information.
Responsibilities
- Assist patients on the phone with appointments and medical inquiries.
- Exude confidence with a steady pace, professional tone, and call control.
- Clarify patient requests to accommodate immediate needs and preferences.
- Demonstrate CS best practices through effective presentation skills & phone etiquette.
- Understand patient priorities through questioning techniques, active listening, and restatement.
- Adapt to call flow based on patient requests and priorities.
- Understand medical scheduling as it relates to insurance plans and types of appointments.
- Optimize provider schedules with efficient scheduling.
- Collect patient demographics, insurance plans and reasons for visit.
- Run insurance eligibility and update plans, as needed.
- Handle requests for Rx refills & coordinate with in-house MA’s.
- Update account records with concise and detailed notes.
- Partner with medical offices and MA’s.
- Achieve call volume and average handle time targets.
- Consult with Team leaders & Supervisors to resolve escalated requests.
Requirements
- One (1) year of experience as a qualified Medical Receptionist.
- Dermatology experience a plus.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
- EMA PM and EMR experience a plus.
