About the Role
Mohawk Valley Health System (MVHS) is seeking a dedicated General Surgeon Core Faculty member to advance surgical education through teaching, mentorship, and program development, while maintaining a strong clinical presence.
Responsibilities
- Provide required clinical care, including outpatient medicine for all ages.
- Bridge between supervision of clinical activities and teaching in the clinical learning environment.
- Develop teacher-learner relationships with residents.
- Craft a supportive learning environment through enthusiasm, approachability, and respect.
- Provide point-of-care teaching tailored to the resident and patient scenario.
- Direct residents to appropriate resources.
- Assess residents and provide timely feedback.
- Role model excellence in patient-centered care, communication, reflective practice, and professionalism.
- Seek additional training and/or participate in scholarly work.
- Provide clinical care to vulnerable populations.
Requirements
- Ability to obtain an unrestricted NYS Medical License and DEA license.
