About the Role

Metropolitan College of New York (MCNY) is seeking an Adjunct Professor to teach project management courses within the MS in Project Management program. This part-time, on-campus position involves updating course materials, providing student support, fostering active learning, and administrative tasks related to grading and record-keeping.

Responsibilities

  • Updating syllabus, LMS course contents, and course materials, preferably with Open Education Resources (OER).
  • Allocating regular office hours and providing academic support to ensure student success.
  • Fostering active learning in a face-to-face setting.
  • Providing timely student feedback, grading assignments, tests, and discussion forums.
  • Timely submitting final grades and attendance records.
  • Participating in School for Business assessment activities, including CQI (Continuous Quality Improvement).

Requirements

  • Master's degree in Business Administration, Management, or Project Management.
  • Previous college-level teaching in project management.
  • Practical project managing experience is required.
  • Experience working with diverse student populations is preferred.
  • Expertise in a relevant field, as demonstrated by advanced degrees, publications, or work experience.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with colleagues and administrators.
  • Experience with online teaching and learning management system (LMS) platforms is desirable.
  • A commitment to social justice and equity, as evidenced by previous teaching or volunteer work in the community, is desirable.
