About the Role

SF Compute is seeking a People Operations Manager to establish and manage the operational foundation of its People function. As the company rapidly expands, this role will be crucial in transitioning HR operations in-house, building scalable systems, processes, and programs, and partnering with key stakeholders to support the growing team.

Responsibilities

  • Own the transition of outsourced HR operations in-house, stabilizing day-to-day support within the first 30-45 days.
  • Own and evolve HRIS integrations, data integrity, and system scalability, coordinating with Accounting and Finance on payroll.
  • Identify opportunities for automation and scaling within HR processes.
  • Own and improve onboarding and offboarding processes, including preboarding, documentation, benefits, and final logistics.
  • Administer open enrollment and manage the benefits broker relationship.
  • Handle sensitive leave situations with discretion and rigor.
  • Build startup-appropriate programs such as manager training and employee engagement.
  • Apply an operational lens to People decisions, identifying risks and tradeoffs.
  • Utilize data and operational insights to proactively improve programs.

Requirements

  • 6+ years of HR generalist or People Operations experience, including time in a lean function at a company under ~150 employees.
  • Full ownership experience with an HRIS platform, including payroll, integrations, permissions, and data integrity.
  • Proven track record of stabilizing an operational function quickly after joining a company.
  • Working knowledge of California employment law.
  • Experience owning benefits administration and leave management directly.
  • Demonstrated ability to build processes from scratch and own them end-to-end.
  • Comfort using data to identify problems and inform decisions.
