About the Role

BGRE creates premier offices for ambitious businesses, shaped by hospitality, operating expertise, and tenant experience. We are seeking a Senior Manager in New York, NY, to inspire change and continual improvement, contributing to a dynamic culture.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the end-to-end design process directly with tenants, from concept through move-in, ensuring design solutions meet tenant expectations, align with brand standards, and are executed within scope and budget.
  • Work closely with internal Design team, Real Estate Experience group, asset management, and construction teams to deliver tenant relocation projects, feasibility studies, FF&E packages, and capital improvements.
  • Lead the design process with tenants, serving as the primary design contact to guide space planning test fits and all design phases.
  • Deliver outstanding service by listening to tenant needs, providing design solutions that reflect their brand and business goals, and ensuring responsiveness throughout the project.
  • Manage the design of projects across all phases, including Testfit, SD, DD, Construction Documentation, Construction Administration, and furniture procurement.
  • Oversee consultant teams and FFE vendors to deliver projects within budget and schedule.
  • Conduct and manage tenant feasibility studies and testfits to assess space options and drive decision-making processes.
  • Develop test fits as needed with Bluebeam or Autocad; Markup drawings from consultants to provide design direction.
  • Lead furniture/ art/ accessories selection, finishes, and develop FF&E presentations, ensuring alignment with the project vision and tenant feedback.
  • Source finish samples to present curated options to tenants.
  • Take a hands-on approach in finding and sourcing finish samples, light fixtures, etc., from our materials library to provide directions to the design architect.
  • Manage multiple projects in different phases concurrently with different consultant teams.
  • Collaborate with internal cross-functional partners, including Construction, workplace operations, and technology teams.
  • Support the development of team and cross-functional initiatives to reinforce business objectives.
  • Identify design ideas, trends, and new product specifications to evolve design standards and innovate physical workplace products.
  • Build a positive culture on the growing team and have significant input to design vision, strategy, and execution.
  • Develop and maintain project schedules, as well as reporting and mitigating deviations.
  • Budget reporting for project approval, tenant allocations, requisition approvals, and project-specific reporting needs.

Requirements

  • Previous experience in a client-facing role or customer success.
  • Minimum 8-10 years of commercial real estate architecture and interiors experience.
  • Experience with Class-A office a must; exposure to other property types (i.e., mixed use, retail, and multifamily) highly preferred.
  • Experience and knowledge of the construction process as it relates to design, both in terms of relative cost and constructability.
  • Experience and knowledge of MEP/FP, acoustics, structural engineering, FF&E, AV/IT/Security, lighting design, and NYC building code and permitting processes.
  • Experience leading teams of consultants/vendors to deliver a project from start to closeout.
  • Working knowledge of material and furniture specifications.
  • Strong communication skills to present design ideas to stakeholders.
