About the Role
Our Mergers and Acquisitions practice works with owners and investors to help them ease their tax burden and quantify tax exposures in a wide range of transactions. We provide clients with tax due diligence, tax structuring, quantitative tax modeling services, transaction agreement review and consultation, and tax technical support.
Responsibilities
- Manage client engagements, including direct work with c-suite executives to perform financial due diligence on middle-market companies.
- Collaborate with private equity firms, strategic clients, and investment banks on buy-side and sell-side due diligence and other M&A tax activities.
- Oversee all aspects of deal execution, including sourcing and managing client relationships, analyzing and executing client deliverables, and coaching team members.
- Coordinate services with other firm practice areas as needed.
- Build relationships with existing clients through networking and business development activities.
- Provide leadership and supervision to Staff, Seniors, and Managers.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in accounting or a related field.
- Master's degree in Taxation or JD with LLM in taxation preferred.
- Minimum of 8 years of related experience.
- Previous experience in a public accounting or law firm preferred.
- CPA and/or licensed attorney required.
- Previous experience in tax due diligence and merger and acquisitions tax consulting preferred.
- Proven experience leading M&A tax services engagement teams at a large national professional services firm preferred.
- Proven market-facing skills for business development and client relationship management.
- Minimum of 4 years of supervisory and training experience.
- Proven experience managing multiple client engagements.
- Strong project management and organizational skills.
- Excellent Microsoft Excel skills.
- Strong analytical, presentation, and marketing skills.
- Excellent interpersonal and verbal & written communication skills.
- Willingness to travel to client locations up to 50%.
