About the Role

The Member Growth Engineering team focuses on building digital experiences to guide members to the right care at the right moment, evolving beyond traditional funnels to create a habit-forming product. This role is crucial in evolving our mobile experiences to be best-in-class.

Responsibilities

Take ownership of a team’s architecture, providing system-wide design guidance and decomposing software architecture into discrete components.
Ensure sound tradeoffs across competing dimensions in system design.
Produce architecture that is exemplary in terms of efficiency, stability, extensibility, and the ability to evolve.
Design AI-augmented workflows, such as automated code generation and incident analysis, to multiply team output.
Establish guardrails for safe and responsible AI usage across your team, covering security, compliance, and output correctness.
Drive best practices across the organization and lead initiatives to eliminate tech debt.
Prepare the codebase for future roadmap requirements.
Critically influence large, cross-team projects, ensuring execution without delay or compromise.
Anticipate and remove barriers of all kinds.
Partner with design to define a mobile design system and UX heuristics.
Own mobile CI/CD, app release process, and SDK/framework upgrades.
Bring critical thinking and drive shared understanding in ambiguous situations.
Create a strategy given a clear vision, and define a sequence of objectives given a clear strategy.
Provide a system-wide view to engineers and share architectural improvements across the tech organization.
Build buy-in and drive broad implementation of architectural improvements.
Develop strong working relationships cross-functionally and with business stakeholders.
Make sound tradeoffs between competing needs across short- and long-term horizons.
Empower engineers to set ambitious goals and turn vision into reality.
Mentor and develop engineers across the organization.

Requirements

At least 10 years of experience as a software engineer.
At least 5 years of cumulative experience or exposure developing mobile apps on both Flutter (Dart) and React Native (JS/TS).
Experience using AI to explore and validate architectural decisions.
Experience designing AI-augmented engineering workflows.
Experience establishing quality and safety guardrails for AI-assisted work across a team.
Track record of proactive and collaborative leadership style.
Track record of technical leadership, creating clarity from ambiguity.
