About the Role

The Morgan Library & Museum seeks a Development Assistant to support fundraising efforts through donor stewardship, membership administration, gift processing, communications, and event coordination. This role is integral to maintaining accurate donor records and ensuring a seamless donor experience.

Responsibilities

  • Support the Director of Individual Giving in the membership renewal process for specific groups.
  • Draft and distribute solicitation and acknowledgment letters.
  • Process membership dues and all types of Individual Giving donations.
  • Update Individual Giving communications regularly for accurate donor outreach.
  • Coordinate communication and logistics for donor programs, including e-newsletters.
  • Support donor events, manage guest registration, and provide on-site administrative support.
  • Maintain accurate donor records in the CRM database for gifts, prospects, events, and appeals.
  • Partner with the Finance department for accurate gift recording and reconciliation.
  • Support the preparation of fundraising reports, donor briefings, and materials for senior leadership.

Requirements

  • B.A. Degree; interest in the arts and humanities preferred.
  • 2+ years of development experience, preferably within a museum, arts organization, or nonprofit.
  • Exceptional organizational and project management skills with keen attention to detail.
  • Donor database experience preferred.
  • Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills.
  • Ability to handle confidential information with professionalism and discretion.
  • Experience with email marketing platforms such as Mailchimp preferred.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office software, particularly Word and Excel.
  • Availability to work occasional evenings and weekends for donor events.
  • Ability to work for extended periods at a computer and stand during events.
