About the Role
As a Senior Metallurgical Engineer in our ERI Metals and Mining group, you will work within a multidisciplinary team dedicated to planning and executing studies and detailed engineering for new processing plants as well as upgrades to existing facilities. This role offers a chance to apply metallurgy expertise to cutting-edge projects, shaping the world’s infrastructure, energy systems, and communities.
Responsibilities
- Identify client needs and contribute to proposals.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with stakeholders to define project needs and present technical information, concepts, and study outcomes.
- Establish design criteria, develop mass balances, define process flow diagrams, size and select process equipment, and prepare piping and instrumentation diagrams (P&IDs).
- Develop laboratory test programs, oversee their execution, and analyze resulting data.
- Prepare capital and operating cost estimates.
- Review and produce tender packages, technical specifications, and related engineering documents.
- Act as a Qualified Person (QP) for technical reports.
- Provide supervision and guidance to technicians, drafters, and junior metallurgists.
- Assist project managers and team leads as required.
- Carry out other related tasks that support market growth and successful project delivery.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Metallurgical Engineering, Chemical Engineering, or an equivalent discipline.
- 15+ years of relevant experience in metallurgical processes.
- Current P.ENG license.
- Experience in consulting engineering companies (an asset).
- Strong initiative, attention to detail, and a rigorous work approach.
- Ability to work collaboratively and share expertise across teams.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills.
- Bilingualism (English/French, an asset).

- AB, BC, NT, NU, SK & YT: $135,200 – $179,100
- MB & ON: $123,300 – $169,800
- NB, NL, NS, PEI & QC: $114,900 – $154,800
