About the Role

As a Recovery Support Specialist at Phoenix House, you will participate and facilitate the occurrence of shift change, provide Criss intervention counseling, conduct group intake, ensure that clients adhere to the day-to-day program schedule, tracking attendance and monitoring participation in program events and activities. Responsibilities

Participate and facilitate the occurrence of shift change.
Provide crisis intervention counseling.
Conduct group intake.
Ensure clients adhere to the day-to-day program schedule.
Track attendance and monitor participation in program events and activities.
Conduct and document room/bed checks to ensure resident safety and presence.
Conduct routine facility checks to ensure facility safety and security.
Review client property/items upon admission or receipt to ensure compliance with facility and program rules.
Conduct contraband searches and drug screen analysis administration.
Assume lead duties for shift(s) as assigned, ensuring the program schedule is followed, duties are assigned and completed, and critical incidents are reported and documented.
Mentor patients towards success in program, including behavior modification, program rules, school work, job responsibilities, and appropriate social interactions.
Provide safe, timely, and supervised transportation of patients to off-site appointments or activities.
Assist in the medication room, as needed.

Requirements

High School diploma or equivalent required.
Credentialed Alcoholism and Substance Abuse Counselor Trainee (CASAC-T) in good standing.
Minimum two years’ experience working in a substance use disorder treatment setting, including working with patients with co-occurring disorders.
Trained to dispense medications to clients in case of emergency.
