About the Role

The Patient Care Technician provides direct patient care to clinical trial participants at START, utilizing sound judgment and adhering to established protocols and evidence-based practices.

Responsibilities

  • Assist professional nurses and/or physicians in conducting examinations.
  • Discuss patients' condition with nursing team.
  • Draw blood and obtain specimens for clinical and research laboratory testing, where permitted by applicable law and organizational policy.
  • Take vital signs.
  • Perform ECGs.
  • Prepare patients for examinations, tests and treatments and explain procedures.
  • Record necessary information for review by nurses or physicians.
  • May assist with clinical research or perform other specialized duties requiring supplemental training.
  • Inventory and requisition of supplies and instruments.
  • Set up equipment and prepare medical exam rooms.
  • Prepare charts and lab requisitions for the next clinic day.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED.
  • Current BLS certification.
