About the Role
The Georgia Department of Human Services (DHS) is seeking candidates to fill several positions as an Eligibility Associate. This role reports to an Eligibility Specialist Supervisor and is part of the Temporary Assistance for Needy Families (TANF) subsidized program, designed to provide real-life work experience.
Responsibilities
- Performs general office management duties, including keyboarding, filing, generating, and managing correspondence.
- Provides/coordinates services to clients, families, and partners that call or visit the local office.
- Provides follow-up and/or customer service to resolve any issues.
- Receives and routes telephone communications as required.
- Screens and registers applications for all OFI Eligibility programs offered as required.
- Routinely uses electronic application, Document Imaging, and eligibility systems.
- Maintains confidential records.
- Uses Microsoft Office Suite and/or standard software applications typically used in a corporate office environment to perform daily work assignments.
- Performs other professional responsibilities as assigned.
Requirements
- High school diploma or GED AND six months of experience providing customer support or technical assistance.
- Meet TANF eligibility requirements: one qualifying child under the age of 18 and gross household income under the 300% Federal Poverty Level guideline for household size.
Skills
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, to include Word and Excel and/or standard software applications typically used in a corporate office environment.
