About the Role

The Mechanic keeps up our level of commitment to safety and service. In this role, the technician performs truck repair and maintenance work in accordance with Page GTC and industry standards. They also run diagnostics on vehicles and work closely with other team members to meet company goals. The Technician is at the helm of our overall vehicle quality and reliability. The Page GTC Core Values must be at the forefront of all repair and maintenance decisions.

Responsibilities

  • Determines vehicle condition by conducting inspections and diagnostic tests, identifying worn and damaged parts.
  • Keeps equipment available for use by completing preventive maintenance schedules; installing component and part upgrades; controlling corrosion; completing winterization procedures.
  • Corrects vehicle deficiencies by removing, repairing, adjusting, overhauling, assembling, disassembling, and replacing major assemblies, sub-assemblies, components, parts, or systems, such as, power and drive trains, electrical, air conditioning, fuel, emission, brake, steering, hydraulics; completes machine shop operations; making adjustments and alignments including bearing loads, gear tooth contact, valve mechanisms, governors, oil systems, control linkages, clutches, and traction units.
  • Verifies vehicle performance by conducting test drives, adjusting controls and systems.
  • Complies with federal and state vehicle requirements by testing engine, safety, and combustion control standards.
  • Maintains vehicle appearance by cleaning, washing, and painting.
  • Maintains vehicle records by annotating services and repairs.
  • Keeps shop equipment operating by following operating instructions; troubleshooting breakdowns; maintaining supplies; performing preventive maintenance; calling for repairs.
  • Contains costs by using warranty, evaluating service and parts options.
  • Keeps supplies ready by inventorying stock; placing orders; verifying receipt.
  • Updates job knowledge by participating in educational opportunities; reading technical and regulation publications.
  • Enhances maintenance department and organization reputation by accepting ownership for accomplishing new and different requests, exploring opportunities to add value to job accomplishments.
  • Maintains vehicle records by annotating services and repairs.
  • Ensures all parts are charged appropriately per repair.
  • Performs electronic diagnostic ECM controlled components I.E., sensors, Alt, starter.
  • Performs King pin replacement except international prostar 2013-2018.
  • Performs minor fabrication capabilities, steel, aluminum MIG welding.
  • Performs wet kit installation.
  • Performs hydraulic diagnostics and component replacement.
  • Performs tire fault diagnostics and component replacement.
  • Performs manifold, turbo removal and installation.
  • Performs all trailer diagnostics and repair.
  • Gains an understanding of driver operations and work completed within their daily functions.
  • Performs work independently following company policies and procedures.
  • Performs duties at various maintenance locations.

Requirements

  • 1-year experience
  • Must be able to maneuver 100lbs with tooling.
  • Ability to lift/move 50lbs independently.
  • Must have an active valid driver’s license.
  • Able to exercise good judgment in a variety of situations.
  • Strong written, verbal, analytical and organizational skills.
  • Maintain a realistic balance among multiple priorities while working under pressure in a fast-paced work environment.
  • Highly resourceful team-player, with the ability to also be extremely effective independently.
  • Adept in conflict resolution.
  • Basic skills in Microsoft Excel, Word, and Outlook.
  • 2-years’ experience
  • 5 years plus years of experience.
  • Previous inventory & parts experience preferred.
  • Must pass a post-offer, pre-employment drug test and agree to agencies drug free workplace policies.

Salary/Compensations

  • $25.00 - $47.00 Hourly
  • 2nd Shift receives $1.50/hour shift differential
  • 3rd Shift receives $3/hour shift differential
