About the Role

GFT is seeking an experienced Area Leader, NYC Water to lead or support the conceptualization, design, and construction administration of water/wastewater infrastructure projects across the region. This role offers an excellent career opportunity for a self-starter capable of leading medium to large scale projects with a focus on delivery quality.

Responsibilities

• Lead or support the conceptualization, design, and construction administration of water/wastewater infrastructure projects.
• Participate in and lead project teams in the planning, designing, and administering construction of municipal and industrial water and wastewater infrastructure facilities.
• Engage in client interactions, deliver presentations, and coordinate project activities.
• Manage project assignments and tasks across multiple disciplines.
• Develop and implement study and design standards.
• Lead progress meetings, prepare meeting agendas and minutes, and track project schedules.
• Coordinate work activities and communicate with municipalities and governmental regulatory agencies.
• Oversee construction contract management and observation services.
• Stay actively involved in the engineering industry, particularly within the water/wastewater sector.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s Degree in Civil or Environmental Engineering; Master’s Degree preferred.
• 10-15 years of experience in the water/wastewater discipline.
• Experience designing studies, plans, and specifications for water and/or wastewater infrastructure (e.g., treatment and collection/distribution projects).
• Professional Engineer (PE) license in New Jersey or New York.
• Experience supporting NYC DEP projects required.
• Progressive experience in the evaluation, design, permitting, and construction administration of water and wastewater treatment facilities, pumping stations, water storage and distribution facilities, and wastewater collection systems.
