About the Role
Our Nuffy Bear Day Nursery is seeking a Nursery Chef to be based in our Nuffield Health gym. If you are looking to be part of a team and are passionate about food and children, this is an opportunity to join the UK's largest Healthcare Charity. We are Ofsted registered and follow the Early Years Foundation Stage, offering a unique range of wellbeing care for children.
Responsibilities
- Be responsible for the organisation and operation of the nursery kitchen
- Work with seasonal menus and use fresh ingredients to produce healthy and nutritional food
- Order from nominated suppliers to ensure adequate stock levels
- Work within a set budget alongside your manager
- Minimise food waste
- Support laundry and ensure the cleanliness of your kitchen
- Deal with third parties/suppliers
- Work to EHO (environmental health) standards
Requirements
- Good verbal and written English
- Food Allergen Awareness training (can be provided)
- Strong organisational skills
- Confident in encouraging children to develop their love of food
- Enhanced DBS check required
