About the Role
The Labor Crew Chief II will primarily assist the Field Operations Supervisor and Operations Supervisor with the day-to-day operational services. This role serves in an operational team lead capacity under the guidance of the Field Operations Supervisor, assisting in the supervision of crews responsible for the daily collection of solid waste.
Responsibilities
- Assist in the supervision of crews collecting solid waste, including special services, garbage, yard waste, and bulky items.
- Demonstrate excellent interpersonal, written/verbal communication, and customer service skills.
- Exercise independent judgment and make sound operational decisions to ensure performance standards and safety practices are met.
- Coordinate crew activities within established guidelines.
- Assist in the preparation and maintenance of operational and administrative reports.
- Perform outdoor duties during all weather conditions.
- Operate cars, light trucks, or vans regularly.
- Occasionally operate a variety of other light to heavy-duty equipment.
Requirements
- Ability to obtain a City Driver’s Permit.
- Requires a Class 'A' or 'B' CDL.
- Ability to understand and follow complex oral and written instructions.
- Ability to work nights, weekends, holidays, or other unusual hours.
- Must be able to perform outdoor duties during all weather conditions.
- Final candidates must pass a pre-employment drug-screening test and physical examination.
- Candidates may be asked to take a skills test and/or participate in other assessments during the selection process.
Skills
- Knowledge of Microsoft Office software, Emerald & Kronos.
