About the Role
Tutors are needed for Junior School students (JK - Grade 6) at Branksome Hall, a leading IB World School in Toronto. This role involves supporting students in literacy, math, and other subjects after school hours on campus, fostering a caring rapport and motivating young learners.
Responsibilities
- Work one on one with students providing support in literacy, mathematics, and a range of subject areas
- Plan and prepare for tutoring sessions based on student learning needs
- Communicate with parents and caregivers about their child and their progress
- Liaise with teachers as required to ensure alignment and provide progress updates
Requirements
- Experience working with children in a learning environment
- Experience leading children in a camp, educational, or recreational setting is a strong asset
- A proven ability to have a caring rapport with students
- Ability to motivate and inspire students
- Possess strong oral and written communication skills
- Accept responsibility and is self-motivated
- A positive attitude and ability to maintain a calm and professional demeanour
