About the Role

As an Ophthalmic Tester, you'll perform specialized diagnostic testing that helps physicians evaluate, diagnose, and treat eye conditions while ensuring an exceptional patient experience.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare patients for diagnostic testing and verify patient identity
  • Perform a variety of ophthalmic tests, including: Visual Fields (VF), Optical Coherence Tomography (OCT), A-Scan/IOL Master, B-Scan, Fundus and optic nerve photography, Corneal Topography (CT), Endothelial Cell Count (ECC), Dry Eye Testing, Auto Refraction, Tonometry, Lensometry
  • Ensure testing is accurate and upload results for physician review
  • Instill prescribed eye drops for dilation, anesthesia, or treatment
  • Operate, maintain, and troubleshoot ophthalmic diagnostic equipment
  • Prepare and stock exam rooms while maintaining infection control standards
  • Assist with patient messages, urgent concerns, and clinic workflow
  • Educate and support patients throughout their visit
  • Collaborate with physicians and the clinical team to deliver outstanding patient care
  • Travel between clinic locations as needed

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Experience using an EMR/EHR system (NextGen preferred)
  • Previous medical or customer service experience is preferred but not required
  • Knowledge of ophthalmic medications is a plus
  • Excellent communication, organization, and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Comfortable working in a fast-paced clinical environment
  • Stand, walk, and move throughout the clinic for extended periods
  • Occasionally lift up to 25 pounds
  • Perform tasks requiring close attention to detail and visual accuracy
