About the Role
Lead one or more product engineering teams alongside DevOps and infrastructure engineers, owning their health, growth, and delivery. Focus on AI enablement, rethinking team workflows and the role of human judgment in automated building. Maintain high standards for security, reliability, and correctness in financial services.
Responsibilities
- Lead, support, and grow engineers across product and platform through 1-to-1s, clear expectations, and career development.
- Own delivery across teams, partnering with Product and Design for product teams, and setting priorities for platform and infrastructure teams.
- Own the technical direction of infrastructure and architecture, including cloud, networking, data, and deployment.
- Maintain a high bar for engineering quality and balance new platform work with infrastructure debt.
- Help lead the move toward agentic engineering, setting team usage of AI coding tools and ensuring quality and security standards.
- Hire effectively and partner with other managers to raise the standard of software development, operation, and security across the organization.
Requirements
- Experience managing software engineers, including owning team delivery, growth, and people development.
- Strong engineering background in infrastructure, platform, or backend systems.
- Deep, hands-on experience with cloud infrastructure (AWS), infrastructure as code (e.g., Terraform), containers, orchestration, CI/CD, and observability.
- Coaching instinct and satisfaction in others' growth and success.
- Clear communication and judgment for collaborating with technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Comfort with ambiguity and change in a scaling and evolving environment.
- Hands-on experience with modern AI coding tools (e.g., Claude Code, Cursor, GitHub Copilot).
- Familiarity with modern web and cloud development (TypeScript, Node.js, React on AWS preferred, but strong fundamentals are key).
