About the Role
The Community Recreation Support Professional is responsible for planning, implementing, and overseeing the Recreation Respite Program, as well as other recreation activities and leisure services within agency programs.
Responsibilities
- Provide planning, promotion, implementation, and facilitation of recreation activities.
- Research interactive activities, create a calendar, prepare activities, provide supplies, and facilitate programming for Day Habilitation and Residential programs.
- Foster and promote independent leisure pursuits of participants.
- Ensure recreation equipment and supplies are properly stored and maintained.
- Assist with creating program calendars for all recreation activities.
- Transport participants to recreation and leisure activities.
- Strive to meet the American Therapeutic Recreation (ATRA) Standards of Practice.
- Provide supervision and direct care responsibilities with program participants.
- Address and report all incidents, accidents, violations, deficiencies, and suspected situations impacting the health and safety of individuals receiving services.
Requirements
- High School Diploma/GED.
- Some direct experience working with individuals with functional differences is preferred.
- A valid driver's license and a record that meets the agency's insurance carrier guidelines.
