About the Role
As a designer for Centric Brands, you’ll use your skills and creativity to create designs based on style plans, sales needs and emerging trends. You will also ensure that your work can be transformed into a finished product in a timely manner and at an appropriate price point. This means working not only with our technical design and production teams, but also building collaborative relationships with outside vendors and other external stakeholders.
Responsibilities
- Executes the seasonal design development process, from concept to delivery, by conceptualizing and executing original, trend-appropriate designs that meet market needs and drive sales, ensuring the timely execution of each stage in the process.
- Researches and identifies wovens trend directions; performs competitive analysis; and creates inspiring mood boards and concepts inclusive of color and materials.
- Executes development of initial seasonal design category in context of larger assortment and cost structure; devises style plans and designs according to sales needs and emerging trends all whilst ensuring timely execution of product development calendar.
- Pulls and reviews fabrics: sources yarns and materials, developing and maintaining strong relationships with suppliers and mills.
- Oversees and drives the development of stitch techniques and textures.
- Oversees fittings for all Wovens.
- Approves lab dips with team and ensures consistency with color standards; reviews prints and graphics where appropriate and advises revisions.
- Oversees creation of technical packs, ensuring accuracy.
- Contributes positively to team dynamic fostering a culture of innovation and collaboration.
- Attracts, develops and retains talent with ability to inspire and mentor young designers on team.
- Builds meaningful relationships with cross functional partners in Sales and Sourcing to get desired results.
- Receives and incorporates feedback from manager and leadership.
- Drives change where necessary and processes as needed.
Requirements
- Deep understanding of the menswear market.
- Extensive experience in wovens.
- Excellent communication skills – share accurate and timely information across teams for seamless execution.
- Superior organizational skills.
- Ability to multi-task and meet deadlines, highly detail oriented, and meticulous.
Skills
- Excellent color sense and ability to identify color trends from high and low markets and discern its appropriateness for brand.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, Adobe programs, Browzwear, Kaledo, FlexPLM.
