About the Role

Sage Hospitality Group is hiring a Dishwasher at Hotel Van Zandt in Austin, Texas, to work in Geraldine's Restaurant. This role is crucial for maintaining a sanitary kitchen and ensuring a positive dining experience.

Responsibilities

• Gather dirty dishware, rinse, and stack in dishracks, clearing leftovers and trash.
• Operate the automatic dishwashing machine, loading racks and monitoring controls.
• Load dishwashing solutions and regulate detergent output.
• Unload clean dishes, inspect for cleanliness, and stack in carts and on shelves.
• Manually scrub pots, pans, and kitchen equipment that cannot be washed automatically.
• Manually dry and put away scrubbed items.
• Polish silverware and other service equipment.
• Maintain automatic dishwashing equipment in good working order.
• Keep the dish room clean and orderly, including sweeping, mopping, and emptying trash.
• Clean kitchen floors, work surfaces, walls, ceilings, hoods, vents, and ovens.
• Empty trash cans from kitchen work areas into the outside trash compactor.
• Sweep loading dock and kitchen entrance areas, clearing litter and debris.
• Perform other duties as assigned by management.

Requirements

• Must have basic knowledge of dishwashing.
• Must be able to see minute objects at arm’s length, read meters and controls.
• Must be able to bend, squat, crouch, crawl, reach, and retrieve items from above head.
• Must be able to lift, push, pull, and carry up to 50 lbs. up to 75% of the time.
• Must be able to stand for prolonged periods throughout the shift.
• Must be able to understand and follow verbal/written instructions and communicate effectively.
• Must be able to perform multiple tasks simultaneously and pay attention to details in noisy environments.
• Must have the ability to keep breakage to a minimum by handling items with care.
• Must be able to work in a 95% indoor environment with potential exposure to freezer temperatures as low as -10 degrees.
