About the Role

The Assistant Coach for Women’s Sailing supports the Director of Cornell University Sailing in the planning and operation of the Women’s Sailing program. This includes assisting with team practice and competitions, providing input on player evaluation, and supporting scouting and performance breakdown. The role also involves on- and off-campus recruiting, assisting with team travel, home regatta management, budgeting, and scheduling.

Responsibilities

  • Assist with planning and operation of the Women’s Sailing program.
  • Assist with team practice and competitions.
  • Provide input on player evaluation and team operations.
  • Support scouting of opponents and breakdown of team performances.
  • Conduct on- and off-campus recruiting of student athletes.
  • Assist with team travel.
  • Assist with home regatta management.
  • Assist with budgeting.
  • Assist with scheduling.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree with at least 2 years of experience, or equivalent combination of education and coaching/playing experience.
  • Proven success in coaching, recruiting, and working with student athletes.
  • Knowledgeable of NCAA, Ivy, MAISA and ICSA rules and regulations.
  • Highly motivated with an outstanding work ethic and a relentless recruiter.
  • Experience with ICSA events at all levels.
  • Clean, valid unrestricted driver's license that has been in effect for at least three years.
  • Ability to meet DOT standards for driver’s license.
  • Experience modeling values that support inclusion, belonging, and wellbeing.
