Wegmans cashiers ensure customers have a positive checkout experience by providing proactive customer service in both traditional and self-checkout lanes, aiming to transform first-time shoppers into loyal customers.

Responsibilities

• Engage customers in friendly conversation, make eye contact, smile, and offer additional assistance.
• Thank customers for shopping at Wegmans.
• Efficiently and accurately scan items and process payments.
• Properly bag items to ensure products are transported in good condition.
• Manage traffic flow in the self-checkout area.
• Direct customers to available lanes.
• Ensure self-checkout lanes are in good working order.
• Assist customers with self-checkout system troubleshooting.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and well-stocked workspace.
