About the Role

Web Summit is seeking native Mandarin speakers to join the Speakers Team. This role is crucial for attracting top speakers, particularly from China's tech sector, to ensure global engagement with leaders, creators, and thinkers at their events.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct deep-dive research on potential speakers, their recent announcements, and business needs to craft effective pitches.
  • Engage in outreach with compelling, high-level pitches and maintain momentum in long-term discussions.
  • Contribute to session concepts, titles, and narrative angles.
  • Manage speaker data, track confirmation statuses, and coordinate complex scheduling for high-profile offices.
  • Ensure comprehensive knowledge of VIPs and how to meet their goals by attending Web Summit.
  • Undertake trips within China and standard event travel.

Requirements

  • Native Mandarin speaker.
  • Fluent English.
  • Experience in a fast-paced environment such as PR, talent agency, journalism, events, TV, Radio, or high-end hospitality.
  • Exceptional writing and presenting skills, with the ability to sound professional, persuasive, and succinct.
  • Grounded understanding of China's tech and business ecosystem, including key players and dynamics.
  • Proficiency with China-specific research and outreach tools like WeChat, Weibo, Douyin, and Zhihu.
  • Ability to work collaboratively as a team player and independently.
  • Willingness to learn, ask questions, and scale skills quickly.
  • High Social IQ, with a personality that makes people enjoy working with you.
  • Relentless determination to achieve goals.
