About the Role

The Safeguarding Children Advisor will primarily support and work in partnership with the Multi-agency Safeguarding Hub by providing health research and contributing to discussions and decision making. The post holder will work with the wider Safeguarding workforce to ensure an effective governance framework is in place. This role will provide support to members of the team involved in child protection processes through providing advice and signposting.

Requirements

At least 3 years of experience working in the Multi-agency Safeguarding Hub (MASH).
Experience attending Strategy Meetings.
Experience completing health research for sharing with MASH to contribute to decision making.
In-depth knowledge of the 0-19 public health nursing service (Health Visiting and School Health Teams) and its key priorities.
Sound knowledge of safeguarding.
Understanding of risk management in relation to case management and care planning.
Ability to work effectively within a multi-agency team.
Ability to provide a high level of safeguarding support to community health staff.
Post registration/graduate- Specialist Practice Qualification in Health Visiting/School Nursing (SCPHN).
NMC Registered – Professional nursing/ midwifery /(SCPHN) qualification.
A minimum of three years’ experience as a qualified Health Visitor/School Nurse.
A minimum of three years’ experience working in MASH.
Experience of Multi- agency/multidisciplinary working.
Experience of attending MASH.
Experience of direct supervision of qualified and unqualified staff.
IT literate (e.g., using clinical systems, word processing, email and internet use).
