About the Role

As a Banker I, you will be responsible for core customer service interactions, processing transactions accurately, responding to inquiries, safeguarding information, and detecting fraud. This client-facing role is key to creating an outstanding customer experience by developing relationships, identifying needs, and recommending products and services.

Responsibilities

  • Processes transactions accurately and efficiently, following proper cash handling procedures, balancing cash drawer, and adhering to cash limits.
  • Buys and sells currency from the vault.
  • Fields incoming customer service calls, referencing knowledge of Company operations, products, services, and programs.
  • Answers account and banking related questions while complying with disclosure requirements, regulations, and consumer privacy policies.
  • Prevents and detects fraud by identifying counterfeit currency and monetary instruments, following customer identity verification, and adhering to check cashing and dual-control procedures.
  • Performs daily reconciliation and maintenance for the ATM and processes night depository bags under dual control.
  • Protects customer and Company resources by following security requirements and executing branch opening and closing protocols.
  • Identifies opportunities to provide additional products or services and refers customers to partners when additional expertise is required.
  • Promotes and demonstrates self-service banking options to enhance customer convenience.
  • Maintains an organized work area and performs administrative tasks.
  • Maintains up-to-date knowledge of and adheres to applicable federal regulations and Company policies and procedures.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED required.
  • 2 years of experience in customer service, cash handling, or retail sales preferred.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills in English.
  • Demonstrated commitment to delivering high-quality customer service with a courteous, patient, and professional demeanor.
  • Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills with the ability to follow procedures.
  • Proven ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously while remaining aware of surroundings and priorities.
  • Sound judgment, discretion, and a high level of integrity when handling confidential information.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications (Word, Outlook, Excel).
  • Ability to effectively learn and utilize department specific systems and software.
  • Ability to remain in a stationary position, often standing, for prolonged periods of time.
  • Ability to repetitively use a telephone, computer mouse, and keyboard for extended durations.
  • Ability to move, lift, carry cash bags, coin boxes, and branch equipment up to 30 pounds.
  • Ability to travel to various branches as needed.
  • Ability to participate in rotational Saturday schedule to provide branch support.
