Responsibilities
- Attend to patients pre-surgery and collect relevant patient information for surgical preparation.
- Verify patient information, including medical history and reason for visit, through patient communication.
- Prepare patients for examination by conducting preliminary physical tests, including taking blood pressure, weight, and temperature.
- Record appropriate patient information in patient charts and/or Salesforce.
- Secure patient information and maintain confidentiality by completing and safeguarding medical records.
- Counsel patients by relaying physician's orders and addressing questions about surgery.
- Assist in the preparation of charts, pre-admission, and consent forms.
- Maintain a safe, secure, and healthy work environment by adhering to established standards, procedures, and legal regulations.
- Maintain an inventory of necessary supplies.
Requirements
- High School diploma required.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Medical Terminology knowledge preferred.
- Must hold and maintain an active Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification.
- Bilingual in English and Spanish preferred.
