About the Role

As a Maintenance Mechanic at Parker Jewish Institute, you will be responsible for general building repairs and preventative maintenance assignments. You will carry out assignments, inspections and maintenance of gas, plumbing, electrical, electronic, HVAC systems, painting, grounds maintenance, as well as other assignments as needed.

Responsibilities

  • Perform general building repairs and preventative maintenance.
  • Conduct inspections and maintenance of gas systems.
  • Conduct inspections and maintenance of plumbing systems.
  • Conduct inspections and maintenance of electrical systems.
  • Conduct inspections and maintenance of electronic systems.
  • Conduct inspections and maintenance of HVAC systems.
  • Perform painting tasks.
  • Perform grounds maintenance.
  • Complete other assignments as needed.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED.
  • Four (4) years of apprenticeship training in one or more trades (documented) or four (4) years of experience in carpentry, electrical, painting, plumbing, masonry, or one of the mechanical trades.
  • Must have a clean and active NYS Driver's License.
  • Must have and maintain a valid FDNY and G71 certificate of fitness required by FDNY.
  • Must be friendly and sociable.
  • Must be able to provide comfort to patients with good interpersonal skills - both verbal and in writing.
  • Must embrace a high level of care, compassion, and teamwork.
