About the Role
This supervisor position is responsible for setting and achieving departmental goals, ensuring on-time deliveries and accurate invoices, and managing the transportation department including employee evaluations, accident management, and safety.
Responsibilities
- Coordinate with merchandising and sales for deliveries and backhauls.
- Organize with warehouse and production on orders.
- Schedule drivers and plan routes.
- Conduct training on safety, accident reporting, and customer service.
- Oversee paperwork, including logs and pre-trip/post-trip inspections.
- Monitor drive cam and coach drivers.
- Manage truck maintenance.
Requirements
- Minimum High School diploma with some college preferred.
- 2-3 years of driving experience.
- Supervisory experience is a plus.
- Ability to read and speak English sufficiently to converse with the general public, understand highway traffic signs and signals, respond to official inquiries, and make entries on reports and records.
- Knowledge of DOT requirements.
- Strong problem-solving skills.
- Excellent people skills.
- Must be currently authorized to work in the United States.
