About the Role
The Multifamily Paralegal will work with the Multifamily Housing Finance group, focusing on closing loans secured by multifamily projects and delivering those loans to secondary market investors. This role involves the review and analysis of title and survey on multifamily housing properties, requiring a thorough understanding of these areas. There is a billable hours component to this position.
Responsibilities
- Conduct title and survey review and analysis for commercial real estate loans, including Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac.
- Maintain current knowledge of commercial real estate lending guidelines.
- Perform paralegal duties as directed by the group leader and attorneys.
- Monitor and meet loan closing deadlines.
- Comply with ethical guidelines governing legal practice.
- Maintain official firm files using the document management system.
- Track and record client-billable time to meet minimum requirements.
- Manage and prioritize daily work, communicating any inability to meet responsibilities.
- Track and record both billable and non-billable work daily.
- Work overtime when necessary.
Requirements
- Minimum ten (10) years of experience with commercial real estate transactions, specifically title and survey, law firm, or title company.
- Commercial title and survey experience, specifically ALTA and NSPS.
- Fannie Mae and/or Freddie Mac experience strongly preferred.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively while managing a large workload in a fast-paced work environment.
- Ability to provide quality service to both internal and external clients effectively to build strong relationships.
