About the Role

Responsible for the supervisory and operational functions of St. Peter’s Health Partners Central Receiving and Inpatient Phlebotomy department(s). The Supervisor is expected to lead a team of Central Receiving and Phlebotomy colleagues that directly impact SPHP patient and client experiences. The Supervisor is accountable for personnel staffing, training, scheduling/timekeeping, accuracy and timeliness of procedure performance, budgeting, and materials management within the assigned section. The Supervisor is also accountable for ensuring staff and sites continuously meet regulatory requirements; staff follow all policies and procedures; sites are well kept and ready for regulatory inspection. Duties are to be done in such a manner as to apply and contribute to the St. Peter’s Health Care Services mission and values. Demonstrates the organization's commitment to sound ethical business practices as directed by the Corporate Compliance Office and approved by the Board of Trustees.

Responsibilities

  • Supervise and manage operational functions of Central Receiving and Inpatient Phlebotomy departments.
  • Lead a team of Central Receiving and Phlebotomy colleagues.
  • Manage personnel staffing, training, scheduling, and timekeeping.
  • Ensure accuracy and timeliness of procedure performance.
  • Oversee budgeting and materials management.
  • Ensure staff and sites meet regulatory requirements.
  • Ensure staff follow all policies and procedures.
  • Maintain site readiness for regulatory inspection.
  • Contribute to the St. Peter’s Health Care Services mission and values.
  • Demonstrate commitment to sound ethical business practices.

Requirements

  • Effective communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Ability to manage time and prioritize duties.
  • Previous experience in central receiving and/or phlebotomy.
  • Excellent organizational and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Experience Level

  • minimum of 2 years of leading a phlebotomy team

Education Level

  • Associate degree required
  • Bachelor’s degree Preferred
  • degree in biological sciences, laboratory science or healthcare management preferred
  • Equivalent experience

Salary/Compensations

  • $27.15 - $39.40 per hour
