About the Role
As a Maintenance Assistant, you will support the Maintenance Coordinator with the day-to-day operations of the facility, ensuring the cleanliness and upkeep of the grounds, and performing repairs and maintenance on all equipment in the building and suites.
Responsibilities
- Support the Maintenance Coordinator with completion of daily work orders.
- Repair equipment in the facility and suites.
- Perform painting and minor building touch-ups.
- Conduct daily inspections of equipment, pool, and grounds.
- Perform daily fire safety and building security checks.
Requirements
- Minimum Grade 12 education.
- Fluency in oral and written English.
- Basic knowledge of electrical, plumbing, and carpentry repairs.
- Basic math skills.
- Basic understanding of hand tools.
- Basic understanding of computers and systems: Yardi, Word, Tels.
- Ability to lift 50 lbs of supplies and equipment.
- Ability to work in small areas and from high heights.
- Knowledge of HVAC systems.
- Familiarity with operational features of fire alarm and security systems is considered an asset.
- Knowledge of building codes and safety standards is considered an asset.
