About the Role

Precision for Medicine is a precision medicine CRO that enables the science of precision medicine through integrated offerings. We are hiring a Processing Technician I to join our team in Berlin.

Responsibilities

  • Receive, inventory, and process fresh patient samples.
  • Perform PMBC or cell subset isolations, plasma fractionations, serum separations, cell thawing, cell counting, and generate whole blood aliquots.
  • Receive, inventory, and accession fresh biological samples into the data management system.
  • Receive and inventory all incoming fresh biological samples into the electronic data management system, BSI database.
  • Perform cell isolations and/or separate whole blood and body fluids into various components using the LIMS database to report, track, and record samples.
  • Perform cryopreservation of all isolated cells.
  • Prepare all reagents used in the lab.
  • Create and perform the first key of data collection sheets.
  • Perform equipment preventive maintenance and laboratory organization.
  • Perform cell thawing and cell count measurements.
  • Participate in a rotating Saturday shift schedule to support weekend sample processing activities, ensuring timely receipt, accessioning, and processing.
  • Order and inspect lab supplies.
  • Respond to freezer alarms in accordance with standard operating procedure.
  • Carry out other duties/projects as assigned.

Requirements

  • Associate’s degree (Biology, Chemistry or Life Sciences) or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Basic laboratory skills, experience in pipetting and trained in aseptic technique.
  • At least 6-month laboratory experience, including pipetting and performing procedures under GLP (good laboratory practices).
  • Good computer skills, confident handling of MS Office (e.g. Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
  • Good attention to detail, excellent documentation skills, and ability to work well in a group environment.
  • Must be able to read, write, speak fluently, and comprehend English and ideally German.
