About the Role
Amalgamated Bank, America’s socially responsible bank, seeks a full-time Data Governance Analyst to ensure effective data governance. This role supports the development and implementation of data governance policies and practices for data accuracy, consistency, security, and compliance.
Responsibilities
- Assist in the development, implementation, and maintenance of data governance frameworks, policies, and standards.
- Collaborate with data stewards and data owners across departments to ensure adherence to data governance policies.
- Monitor data quality metrics and implement strategies for continuous improvement.
- Conduct data reviews to ensure data integrity and compliance with regulatory requirements.
- Support the implementation of data governance tools and technologies to enhance data management processes.
- Create and maintain documentation related to data governance processes and procedures.
- Educate and train bank employees on data governance best practices and policies.
- Participate in cross-functional teams to support data governance initiatives and projects.
- Perform other duties as required by the head of data governance.
Requirements
- Minimum of 2-4 years of experience in data governance, data management, data quality, or a related technical role.
- Understanding of data governance frameworks, data quality management, and regulatory compliance requirements.
- Experience with data governance tools and technologies is a plus.
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment and manage multiple priorities.
- Familiarity using statistical computer languages (R, Python, SQL) to manipulate data and draw insights from large datasets.
