About the Role
The Manager of Data Science & Analytics, Payments Intelligence will lead an analytics-focused team supporting the Payments Business Unit. This role serves as a hub for Data Science, Analytics Engineering, and technical excellence, collaborating with various stakeholders to shape a global, revenue-generating financial platform. The position requires comfort with a fast pace and continuous change, offering the opportunity to build a significant product with driven colleagues.
Responsibilities
- Lead an analytics-focused team by setting clear direction, supporting individual growth, and fostering an environment for high-quality, autonomous work.
- Ensure efficient development of scalable data products.
- Guarantee quick and high-quality data-driven decision-making.
- Collaborate closely with Product, Engineering, Business, Compliance, and Finance stakeholders to achieve optimal outcomes for the Vinted Group.
- Support the team by navigating ambiguity, resolving ad hoc issues, and providing leadership where most valuable.
Requirements
- Previous experience in payments or fintech (2+ years in a large fintech strongly preferred).
- Experience leading and growing a domain or a complex team.
- Strong applied background in data, including hands-on experience and relevant education (STEM degree or equivalent).
- Ability to see the big picture, identify systemic patterns, propose solutions, and drive implementation.
- Understanding of modern data approaches, balancing experimentation, modeling quality, delivery speed, and long-term maintainability.
- Strong technical, product, and business judgment, connecting technical decisions to company goals.
- Clear communication skills, able to explain complex ideas simply, pragmatically, and persuasively.
- Hands-on capability to challenge assumptions, review work, and guide technical direction.
- Effective collaboration with senior stakeholders across different functions.
