About the Role

We are hiring a Senior Associate to join the Retail Strategy & Operations team to own the backend data that fuels what customers see when shopping Retail on DoorDash. This person will develop deep expertise in Retail merchants and categories and become the team's authority on data quality — defining what best-in-class product and merchant data looks like, and building the systems that keep it that way as we scale.

Responsibilities

  • Owning attribute definition, enrichment, and catalog feed mapping to hit data coverage targets at scale
  • Setting and scaling data quality standards, building repeatable frameworks like style guides and quality rubrics
  • Tracking data and PDP quality over time, proactively flagging gaps before they reach customers
  • Managing day-to-day enrichment vendor operations
  • Partnering with the Catalog team on attribute creation and taxonomy definition
  • Strategize: Develop the optimal strategy for best serving customers and merchants.
  • Operate: Create tracking dashboards for key metrics and own week over week movement as well as quarterly targets.
  • Analyze: Build models using SQL, Excel, and AI tools to evaluate costs and benefits of programs and experiments.
  • Experiment: Transform strategies into operational experiments that create measurable and actionable outcomes.
  • Build: Launch new products, scale something new, handling both strategy and operational details.
  • Lead, collaborate and Influence: Partner with and influence cross-functional teams including growth, quality, design, marketing, partnerships and product team to build and scale the Retail business.

Requirements

  • 2-4+ years of experience in highly analytical and cross-functional environments (e.g., startups, tech, operations, strategy, consulting, banking, or related experience).
  • AI native: Integrated AI into daily workflows with tools like Claude, Cursor, Copilot, and others.
  • Ownership mentality: Always looking for opportunities to better work product and own the outcome.
  • Entrepreneurial spirit: Bias for action and ability to build from the ground up.
  • Analytical: Comfortable pulling data in SQL, building models in Excel, and leveraging AI tools for analysis.
  • Operates at both high-level and detailed levels.
  • Unafraid of ambiguity: Thrives in ambiguous, startup environments with rapid change and learning.
  • Completed Bachelor’s Degree.
