About the Role
Toromont Cat is seeking experienced Heavy Equipment Technicians for their team in the Atlantic region. This role involves servicing Caterpillar equipment and components, both in-shop and in the field. Responsibilities include planning, troubleshooting, and completing repairs, as well as preparing accurate service reports. The ideal candidate is team-focused, safety-conscious, and dedicated to customer satisfaction.
Responsibilities
- Diagnose mechanical and electrical problems using Caterpillar testing equipment and advanced technical skills.
- Repair Caterpillar diesel engines, OEM truck and coach vehicles, and other heavy equipment within established time and quality standards.
- Repair and service Caterpillar and other heavy equipment according to established procedures and expectations.
- Prepare clear, accurate service and repair reports in a timely manner.
- Maintain excellent customer relationships through frequent communication and regular on-site visits.
- Undertake additional assignments as required to support customer needs.
Requirements
- Minimum post-secondary education and a valid Technician License (Red Seal or 421A) relative to this position, following Provincial standards.
- Minimum 3-5 years of working experience as a Heavy Duty Technician.
- Possess a solid work ethic and a positive attitude.
- Demonstrate safe, environmentally responsible, and healthy work behaviours.
