About the Role
VML Health seeks proactive problem solvers to build, coach, and lead teams for successful project delivery. This role involves monitoring processes, managing team dynamics, financial performance, and ensuring clear communication to meet deadlines.
Responsibilities
- Manage a program of projects for health clients, including defining dependencies and prioritizing workload.
- Continuously monitor project health via resourcing, profitability, and burn rates.
- Collaborate with Client Engagement and Delivery teams to architect solutions meeting client requirements.
- Become an expert in clients’ medical/legal/regulatory review processes.
- Create and draft scopes of work and change orders.
- Own project resourcing by working with discipline leads and resourcing management.
- Support the creation of RFP responses with internal teams and new business engagement.
- Manage internal teams and client relationships in alignment with the Client Engagement team.
- Maintain direct client relationships with Product Owners and client management leadership.
- Interview and make hiring recommendations for Project Manager and Senior Project Manager roles.
- Serve as a key point of contact and liaison for cross-divisional teams, agency peers, and management.
Requirements
- 6+ years of project management experience, including experience at a marketing agency and with pharmaceutical brands.
- Ability to provide proactive and assertive leadership in problem-solving, managing financial success, maintaining timelines, and reducing inefficiencies.
- Strong interpersonal skills and ability to resolve conflict productively.
- Ability to work effectively across departments with diplomacy and understanding of others' roles.
- Ability to manage multiple work-streams effectively and efficiently.
- Extensive team management skills for teams of 5+.
- Ability to view problems at a system level and align solutions with strategic direction.
- Proactive, adaptable, and flexible.
- Demonstrated commitment to continuous improvement.
- Strong attention to detail.
- Demonstrable ability to operate under tight deadlines with complex business/technical solutions.
- Ability to manage workload with minimal supervision.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Proven experience in program management within a marketing agency, with a focus on healthcare clients.
- Strong understanding of project management methodologies and tools.
