About the Role
As a Tax Intern in the National Transfer Pricing group, you will work closely with experienced transfer pricing staff on project and engagement management for complex, multinational clients. You will assist in all aspects of the identification and implementation of transfer pricing strategies and solutions for clients within our Grant Thornton international network of firms.
Responsibilities
- Assist in delivering transfer pricing projects involving advice on inter-company transfers of tangible goods, intangible property, services, and loans.
- Prepare tax provisions for GAAP financial statements.
- Prepare contemporaneous documentation to avoid tax penalties under Section 6662.
- Perform initial identification and benchmarking of related party transactions.
- Assist in the defense of transfer pricing determinations.
- Conduct financial and economic analyses of multinational and domestic corporations.
- Perform industry and market research.
- Conduct economic valuations.
- Perform comparative financial benchmarking.
- Document findings from analyses.
- Assist in the preparation of valuation reports for closely held or publicly traded companies.
- Maintain good client relationships.
- Work effectively with client management and staff to gather information and perform tax services.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Requirements
- Pursuing a Bachelor's or master’s degree in business, Economics, Accounting, Finance, or related area.
- Possess tax accounting skills and some knowledge of GAAP.
- Strong research and computer skills including proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
- Ability to work additional hours as needed.
- Ability to travel to various client sites.
- Minimum overall and major GPA of 3.0/4.0 preferred.
- Excellent analytical, communication (written and verbal), and interpersonal skills.
- Strong technical aptitude and skillset.
- Demonstrated project management skillset including project planning and time management.
- Ability to work efficiently and effectively in a complex team environment.
- Ability to travel on short notice.
- Ability to work additional hours as necessary.
- Must be authorized to work in the U.S. without the need for employment-based visa sponsorship now or in the future.
