About the Role
The Director of Programming will lead the development and execution of the Asia House Business and Policy programme, bringing together decision-makers from government and business leaders. This role involves identifying high-level speakers, securing their engagement, and curating relevant audiences for corporate members and the wider network. It is a leading content role within a dynamic organization operating at the highest levels of government and business across Asia, the Middle East, and Europe.
Responsibilities
- Research, plan, and deliver thought leadership programmes, including private briefings, roundtables, and conferences.
- Secure high-level speakers and assemble senior audiences for meaningful dialogue.
- Identify and analyze market developments to create programmes reflecting corporate member and client priorities.
- Produce concise briefing notes for presenters and speakers.
- Engage with senior government ministers, policymakers, and executives on key issues.
- Lead and manage the programme team.
- Maintain editorial independence, objectivity, and accuracy.
- Oversee corporate member engagement in programmes and seek new audiences.
- Establish, maintain, and strengthen contacts in government, diplomatic networks, and the private sector for programme development and business development support.
Requirements
- Minimum five years of professional experience in a think tank, consultancy, or similar organization, or in journalism.
- Sound editorial judgment, good news sense, and an understanding of relevance for the Asia House network.
- Effective communication and relationship-building skills, including experience engaging with senior political and business figures.
- Excellent writing ability.
- Knowledge of political and market developments in Asia and the Middle East, with a wide network of contacts.
- Ability to manage high workloads and meet deadlines.
