About the Role
We are seeking a driven Cloud Engineer to join our cloud operations team, focusing on ensuring a stable and evolving cloud platform. This role is crucial for supporting Vattenfall's mission of Powering Climate Smarter Living by managing and optimizing our cloud infrastructure.
Responsibilities
- Ensure a stable cloud platform that evolves with organizational needs.
- Manage cloud networking, including understanding cloud-on-prem connectivity (ExpressRoute, MPLS, BGP).
- Design, deploy, and manage cloud-based network architectures (e.g., VPCs, subnets, routing, paas specific subnet creation, network Segmentation, private endpoints).
- Collaborate with DevOps, security, and development teams to integrate networking solutions.
- Automate network infrastructure provisioning and management using tools like PowerShell, Bicep / Arm.
- Monitor and troubleshoot network performance issues in cloud environments.
- Design and operate Next Gen Firewall Environments, ideally Check Point.
- Write scripts in Powershell and Bash.
- Create and maintain automation based on scripts using e.g. REST.
- Utilize configuration management tools like ARM templates, Bicep, Ansible, or DSC.
- Troubleshoot OS issues with Windows and Linux.
- Ensure proper usage of tagging, permission handling, naming, and policies.
- Support platform audits.
- Understand the cloud financial model and TCO, and provide advice on cloud consumption.
- Manage and react to alerts from Azure Security Center.
- Guide projects with IT security for secure implementation.
- Manage Azure DevOps, including project rooms, license management, and feature enablement.
- Handle backlogs within Azure DevOps.
Requirements
- Ability to achieve a T-shaped skill profile with expertise in cloud networking and basic understanding of OS, Backup, Security, Databases, Web, and Azure PaaS Services.
- Ability to code and/or script for automation.
- Willingness to let go of traditional ways of working and adapt to a fast-changing environment.
- Social competence and understanding of business needs.
- A broad and versatile profile with one or several areas of deeper technical knowledge.
- Willingness to develop into a T-Shaped Cloud Specialist.
- Experience with cloud services.
- Experience in a large international environment.
- Experience in troubleshooting and root cause analysis.
- Ability to work under pressure.
- Ability to translate complicated technical matters into simple understandable language.
