About the Role

The Publications Data Management Intern will work with the Project Manager to maintain the MSF Science Portal, implementing data quality improvements on the website and directly in the database. This role involves data entry, cleaning, project organization, and descriptive analysis, with opportunities to support website enhancements, dashboard development, and communications.

Responsibilities

  • Create a weekly list of new MSF-authored publications by reviewing PubMed, Google Scholar alerts, and other data sources.
  • Enter journal publications and conference materials into the Science Portal database using the content management system.
  • Support the Portal team in improving data cleanliness by querying the database and updating data using SQL (Microsoft SQL Server) for bulk updates or manual cleaning.
  • Optimize workflow monitoring and efficiency, and assist with project management.
  • Support communications and raise awareness of the Science Portal via public social media and internal platforms.
  • Work on various data visualization, data management, and communications projects based on strengths and interests.
