About the Role
The T&C Manager will provide guidance and support to the Management Team and employees, lead and manage routine HR functions, and build relationships from onboarding to separation. The goal is consistent application of policies and procedures, and improved employee satisfaction and retention. The T&C Manager will also coordinate Labor Management grievances and the ongoing application of the Collective Bargaining Agreement for four (4) unionized departments.
Responsibilities
- Coordinates recruitment, staffing, and onboarding of staff.
- Handles employment-related inquiries from applicants, employees, and the Management Team.
- Facilitates training and development for team members.
- Works closely with teams, providing guidance to improve work relationships, build morale, and increase productivity and retention.
- Identifies and determines potential causes of personnel problems.
- Conducts investigations to actively resolve employee relations issues and recommends appropriate outcomes aligned with museum policies and best practices.
- Performs routine tasks required to administer and execute HR programs.
- Handles complex and/or sensitive matters.
- Continually reviews federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations, sharing best practices, recommending changes, and applying updates as needed.
- Assists Payroll Coordinator with processing general payroll.
- Assists/leads HRIS training with new hires and managers.
- Leads special team projects as assigned.
- Runs institution and department reports to support leaders and teams as needed.
- Participates in Management Team, All Staff, and other cross-functional meetings as needed.
- Coordinates labor relations activity, including the facilitation of Labor Management meetings and providing support for disciplinary actions and grievances.
- Acts as the primary contact for union representatives.
- Processes payroll for union member's dues, tips, and commissions.
- Performs other related duties as required and assigned.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree and three (3) years related Human Resources or related experience OR Five (5) plus years progressive experience in the HR field, OR appropriate combination of education and applicable experience.
- Non-profit experience a plus.
- Experience working with unions helpful.
- HR Professional Certification (PHR/SHRM-CP or SPHR/SHRM-SCP) a plus.
